Eleftorios StoukogeorgiosElefterios Stoukogeorgios, born Mary 5, 1914, in Koumaria, Greece, and raised in a rural Greek Orthodox family, provides Holocaust witness testimony. Mr. Stoukogeorgios, who was a shepherd when the Nazis came to his village of Agrelia, Thessaly, served as a guerrilla fighter during the war. He discusses the invasion, consequences and resistance along with Nazi persecution of Greek Jews and the rescue of Jewish families from Trikalia. Greek language. Video is undated but interview questionnaire (attached) indicates the Mr. Stoukogeorgios was visiting with daughter Elaine Exarhos in Peabody at the time and would return to Greece in Dec. 1987.

Sonia Schreiber Weitz, born August 27, 1928, in Kraków, Poland, provides Holocaust survivor testimony in this featured film of the Holocaust Center, relevant to the memoir of Mrs. Weitz published the same year with the same title. Mrs. Weitz was a leader and founder of the Holocaust Center of the North Shore (later Holocaust Center Boston North). Video produced in cooperation with Cablevision, Peabody, Massachusetts.

Mr. Wertheimer recalls growing up the son of a lawyer in a German Jewish family, the rise of the Nazis and anti-Semitic persecutions in 1930s Germany, emigrating, and coming to the United States. Fred ManasseFred Manasse, born 1935 in Frankfurt, Germany, and raised Jewish, provides Holocaust survivor testimony. Mr. Manasse describes rediscovering (as an adult) his memories of his early childhood at his family's hotel in Baden Baden, his experience as a small child escaping from Germany to Belgium through his father's means, his father's experience with the ill-fated voyage of the "St. Louis" to Cuba (his father would later die in Auschwitz, while his mother and sister were also murdered after trying to escape to Switzerland), and eventually escaping to the United States via France, Spain, and Portugal with his brother.

Mr. Michelson describes the Nazi invasion of Soviet-occupied Latvia in 1941 and the persecution of Jews that followed, ghettoization, losing his parents, being forced into concentration camps, being used as slave labor in Germany near Magdeburg and his escape, liberation by the Red Army, escape from the Russians to Berlin, and coming to the Untied States.
