Yom HaShoah 2005

Abstract

The Holocaust Center of the North Shore commemorates Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with a program held at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Peabody, Massachusetts. The video includes the introduction of the Yankee Division Veterans Association and the Peabody Veterans Council, playing of the national anthem, remarks and poetry reading by Sonia Weitz, music by the Gordon College Woman's Choir conducted by Faith Lueth, greetings by Dr. Robert McAndrews (President, Holocaust Center), greetings by Michael Bonfanti (Mayor, City of Peabody), greetings by Cheryl Levy (President, Women's Division of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore), interfaith service (Father Thomas Buckley, Amesbury; Reverend Anne Deneen, Gloucester; Rabbi Lee Levin of Salem; and Cantor Sam Pessaroff, Peabody), keynote presentation by judge/justice Richard Goldstone, and presentation of the Holocaust Center Service Award to Richard Goldstone by Harriet Tarnor Wacks (Director, Holocaust Center).
