Abstract

The Holocaust Center of the North Shore commemorates Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with a program held at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Peabody, Massachusetts. The video includes the Survivors' Candlelighting Ceremony, Welcome by Dr. Robert McAndrews, Sounding of the Shofar, Musical Selections by Faith Leuthe and the Gordon College Women's Choir, Greetings by Mayor Michael Bonfanti, Peabody, Greetings by Merritt Mulman (Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore) in lieu of Deborah M. Ponn (President), Holocaust Center Service Award Presented to Sandy Weitz by Harriet Tarnor Wacks, Keynote Presentation by Dr. Christopher Mauriello ("From Memory to History": Myths of the Holocaust in American Public Life), Interfaith Service (Reverend Louise Mann, Swampscott; Reverend Louise Mann, Swampscott; Rabbi Ilana Rosansky, Salem; Cantor Sam Pessaroff, Peabody), Sonia Schreiber Weitz ("What Else Was Lost"), Generations' Ceremony with the Shir Shalom Childrens Choir, and Singing of Hatikvah and the Star Spangled Banner.
