Abstract

The Holocaust Center of the North Shore commemorates Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with a program held at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Peabody, Massachusetts. The video shows Welcome by Rabbi Samuel S. Kenner (Chairman, Holocaust Center), Greetings by Shephard Remis (President, Jewish Federation of the North Shore), Holocaust Center Service Award Presented to Peabody Mayor Peter Torigian by Harriet Tarnor Wacks (Director, Holocaust Center), A Tribute to Survivors (Survivors' Candlelighting Ceremony with Narrators Michael Gross, Andrea Hurwitz, and Rabbi Samuel Kenner), Interfaith Service (Cantor Sam Pessaroff, Temple Ner Tamid, Peabody; Father Gerard Dorgan, St. Mary's Church, Danvers; Reverend Dr. Susan Jarek-Glidden, United Methodist Church, Winthrop; Rabbi Earl Kideckel, Temple Israel, Swampscott), Musical Selections by the Gordon College Women's Choir, "And There Was Light" by Sonia Schreiber Weitz (Holocaust Survivor), and the singing of Hatikvah and the Star Spangled Banner.
