dc.description.abstract | Digital photo essay assignment prompt and excerpts from student work for "Technology Methods in the Early Primary and Elementary Grades," a Fall 2021 graduate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course taught by Youn Jung Huh (Childhood Education and Care) at Salem State University. The SSU course collaborated with a course taught at Duksung Women's University in Seoul, South Korea.There were 27 students in the SSU course and 20 students in the partner course. Digital tools used in collaborative work included Zoom, Paddlet, Google Slides, Google Translate, and Google Forms. | |

dc.description.course | This course is designed to provide early childhood and elementary students with an introduction to common educational technology while they are in their full practicum. Through hands-on experience with computer hardware, software, and web-based tools, participants will gain experience-based knowledge and confidence in using technology to facilitate learning appropriate for the needs of diverse learners and across varied subject areas in early primary and elementary grades. This course covers topics including best practices in classroom technology and instructional design, age appropriate lesson planning with technology, and ethical concerns. One and a half lecture hours per week. Field-based assignments are required. Prerequisite: EDC 860 |
