dc.description.abstractTeaching reflection written by Zlatinka Blaber (Accounting and Finance) about her experiences teaching "Cost Accounting," a Fall 2021 undergraduate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course at Salem State University. The SSU course collaborated with a course taught at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina in Valledupar, Colombia. There were 9 students in the SSU course and 5 students in the partner course. Digital tools used in collaborative work included Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Zoom.

dc.description.courseThis course will introduce the concept and characteristics of cost with specific emphasis on decision-making situations that require accounting data. This course discusses the application of costs to process, job order and standard cost accounting systems. Concepts such as activity-based costing, just-in-time inventory systems and material requirements planning are also covered. Three lecture hours per week. Required of Business Administration majors in Accounting concentration.Prerequisite: ACC202.
