dc.description.abstract | Syllabus for "Cost Accounting," a Fall 2021 undergraduate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course taught by Zlatinka Blaber (Accounting and Finance) at Salem State University. The SSU course collaborated with a course taught at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina in Valledupar, Colombia. There were 9 students in the SSU course and 5 students in the partner course. Digital tools used in collaborative work included Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Zoom. | |

dc.description.course | This course will introduce the concept and characteristics of cost with specific emphasis on decision-making situations that require accounting data. This course discusses the application of costs to process, job order and standard cost accounting systems. Concepts such as activity-based costing, just-in-time inventory systems and material requirements planning are also covered. Three lecture hours per week. Required of Business Administration majors in Accounting concentration.Prerequisite: ACC202. |
