dc.description.abstract | Syllabus for "Cost Accounting," a Spring 2021 undergraduate Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) course taught by Zlatinka Blaber (Accounting and Finance) at Salem State University. The SSU course collaborated with a course taught at Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan, Pakistan. There were 23 students in the SSU course and 25 students in the partner course Digital tools used in collaborative work included Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Tableau Desktop and Microsoft Power BI. | |

dc.description.course | This course will introduce the concept and characteristics of cost with specific emphasis on decision-making situations that require accounting data. This course discusses the application of costs to process, job order and standard cost accounting systems. Concepts such as activity-based costing, just-in-time inventory systems and material requirements planning are also covered. Three lecture hours per week. Required of Business Administration majors in Accounting concentration. Prerequisite: ACC202. |
