    Abstract
The Buffalo soldiers were initially formed to help the U.S. congress rebuild the country after the Civil War. The Buffalo soldiers were tasked with fighting the “Indian Wars” on the western front. Amongst their jobs, they were among the first park rangers in our national parks. Their impact on the development of the west cannot be understated.
