dc.description.abstract | SV151 — Nelson Dionne Collection. While mislabeled on the back of the card as "Salem Custom House," this is in actuality a view of the Market House, also known as the Old Town Hall, from Front Street. A sign for [C.J.] Morris's Eating House with the tagline "Meals at All Hours" is faintly visible above one of the (since bricked up) basement entrances to the building. Visible also are merchants lining Derby Square with their carts and wares. Published and photographed by J.W. & J.S. Moulton, 256 Essex Street, Salem, Mass., c. 1873-76. | |
