    Abstract
This project is focused on improving outcomes and length of stay for patients having surgery. Average length of stay for colectomy and hysterectomy patients at CHA is greater than the national average. Also, narcotic usage for this patient population is high and results in increased post-op complications. A multidisciplinary team developed protocols to standardize treatment of these patients before and after surgery.
