Abstract
Teachers often ask questions to spark discussion. Which kinds of questions can spark discussions with more participation and deeper engagement? This study examines video data of students' interactions in physics lab, focusing on moments where a teacher's question sparked discussion. Different kinds of questions may have led to differing levels of engagement.
